Mission
Statement

Our team's purpose is to teach real-world STEM skills to students through competitive and collaborative robotics competitions. We focus on teaching engineering principles in mechanical and electrical engineering, and programming during the first semester. In the second semester, we design, build, and program a robot to compete in annual FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC) locally. This involves following the entire engineering design process, from problem-solving to finalizing the robot design, prototyping, building, and modifications. Our goal is for students to have fun working as a team and gain hands-on engineering experience!

About us
our History
The Valencia Robotics Team was established in 2019 after Ms. Ellis, the school's physics teacher, recognized a lack of STEM-driven clubs on campus. With a passion for engineering, she founded the team to inspire students through hands-on learning. As a new team, we embrace making mistakes as part of our growth and improvement, with high hopes for continued innovation and success in the future.
Team Values
As members of Team 8060, we prioritize teamwork, innovation, and perseverance in every challenge we face. In competition, we play fair, respect our opponents, but most importantly, we do our best. Our commitment to this team pushes our continuous improvement and drives us to achieve our goals!

Journey
Team 8060 is dedicated not just to robotics but also giving back to our community. We often reach out to students in local middle schools and provide insight by inviting them to shadow our team members in the workshop, offering them hands-on experience. We also partner with FIRST to host the LEGO League Robotics Competition at our school for a multitude of junior FIRST teams!
